“Confidence

confidence

You have to give it to this guy seen recently at the West End markets in Brisbane. Excellent place for fresh, fresh food and over the top interesting people. The music was probably good too but I can’t remember, I just couldn’t get past the ‘confidence’ .

Que sera.............

Nostalgia day today, must be the weather.

I have mentally visited the ancestors and decided to lead my wonderful new granddchild, Miss Jemma  to find the source of her genes and some of her good looks. Her Mum was born in Hobart, Tasmania  and the other gorgeous girls in the picture, range across the centuries to the East End of London and King’s Lynn in Norlfolk. Miss Jemma may enjoy comparing bits of her facial anatomy in a couple of years with someone as far back as a great, great, great Granny – the beautiful lady with hat.

I am writing to Miss Jemma, usually at 3am when sleep eludes me and pondering such questions with her like – ‘are you reading this on paper’? -  “how easily will you choose the sex of your future child?’  – “do you have 60 year old rockers screaming on a stage with school trousers too”?

The linguistic approach is tricky as I don’t know how old she will be when she reads it, if at all. Pondering the past, the present and the vagaries of her future have made me feel quite vulnerable. When I feel like that I get thirsty, time for the bubbles.

What’s up Brisbane you finally ask? Well it was the weather and the remote fear of death here in Manly with our tsunami alert that brought me to consider my heritage and  mortality. Sincere sadness for those in Chile.

Nice date today 210 210………..

hot under the collar

We’ve all been a bit hot under the collar lately with the heat but spare a thought for the snake handler I met at Mount Gravatt.  BIG sweat daily.

just a different view

I try to take time out in the here and now – as they say, to really LOOK at stuff around me. An Ann St office block suddenly becomes awesome.
